For Our Faith (Red & White)

On the front is the Arabic letter ن (nūn).

In 2014, in Mosul, Iraq, that letter appeared painted on the doors of Christian homes. It stood for nasrani — Nazarene, follower of Jesus of Nazareth. It was a mark to single them out: everything was taken from them and they were driven out of the city their families had lived in for centuries.

Christians around the world did the one thing nobody expected. Instead of hiding the letter, they wore it. They turned a mark of shame into a sign of identity.
