FC x SENT — an official collaboration with Fernando Cruz, relief pitcher for the New York Yankees.

Fernando was born in Bayamón. He was signed as a shortstop in 2007 and spent years bouncing between the minors, independent ball and foreign leagues. From 2016 to 2021 he didn't belong to a single MLB organization — six years with nobody wanting him. He made his major league debut at 32.

That's the story behind this piece. Not the can't-miss prospect, but the guy who kept throwing when nobody was watching anymore. Today he's one of the most dominant arms in the Yankees bullpen and is representing Puerto Rico again in the World Baseball Classic.
